Yorkville is a very family-focused community with a strong emphasis on education and outdoor spaces for kids and families to enjoy.
The area is served by Yorkville School District 115, which continues to grow and adapt as the community expands. With all of the recent growth, school boundaries can sometimes be a little confusing and may continue to change in the coming years as new schools and improvements are planned.
Currently, Yorkville has three K–3 elementary schools that many families appreciate for their smaller size and welcoming, close-knit feel — something that has been especially nice for younger kids starting out in school.
For families who would like to research schools further, official school “report cards” and information can be found through the Illinois State Board of Education website:

Yorkville also places a strong focus on parks and outdoor recreation. The community was previously recognized as a Playful City USA by a national organization for its commitment to creating great play spaces for children — a reflection of how much the town values family-friendly amenities.
Today, Yorkville offers a wide variety of parks, playgrounds, trails, and green spaces throughout the community. Families enjoy spending time outdoors walking and biking the trails, visiting unique playgrounds, attending youth sports programs, and taking advantage of riverfront areas during warmer months.
With so many outdoor spaces and activities available, Yorkville makes it easy for families to stay active and enjoy time together outside.
